How do I know I am choosing the right door size for my Pet?
The flap size will determine the opening size for your pet's entry and exit through the pet door. Measure your pet from the paw to the top of its shoulder to determine height, and then measure across the widest part of your pet to make certain the opening will provide the required height and width for your pets ease and comfort.

I have both cats and dogs, how do I know the best Pet Portal™ size for the different sizes of my pets?
Always choose a Pet Portal™ for the largest pet using the pet door. If the height is too high for the smaller animals, a small ramp or step should be provided.
Where should I place my Pet Portal™?
Every home and office is different. If you have a backyard or a front yard or a deck, then an entrance to that yard or deck is ideal. Classy Custom Pet Portals™ can be installed in any door from 2" thick, down to 1/16" thick. If you choose to install your Pet Door in a wall, make sure you have a professional help you. Walls have electrical wires, water pipes and support structures that require special handling as well as increased framing for walls that are thicker than 2".
Can I use a Pet Portal™ inside my house from one room to another?
Absolutely! Classy Custom is the only Pet door on the market that is offering styles of Decorative Frames that coordinate with your home decor. Now you can offer a special entrance from one room to another for your pet. You may create a Pet Portal™ because you want to keep the heat or cooled air inside the room of your choice, and/or because you wish to give your pet a special entrance in your home.
How secure is the Classy Custom Pet Portal™?
Every precaution has been taken to provide increased security for you and your pet. The Classy Custom Pet Portal™ has a Stainless Steel Security Door with a dead bolt lock. Our plastic version also has a painted steel Security Door with the steel dead bolt lock for added protection. It is always a good idea to keep the Security Door locked when the pet door is not in use.
What about the dirty pet paw prints coming in and out of the Pet Door?
A perfect reason to use the Classy Custom Paw Prints accent rugs! Our Paw Prints are used as mats for both indoors and outdoors. They are hand hooked, washable, with charming pet themed designs. They provide the ideal welcome mat.
Will a Pet Portal™ help me with my dog's potty training?
A Pet Portal™ is an excellent way to assist your dog in communicating with you when he has to relieve himself. Pets are often upset when they can not exit the house as soon as the urge to relieve themselves first occurs. A pet door allows them to take care of business straight away.
How can I train my pets to use the Classy Custom Pet Portal™?
A simple way to begin your pet's training, is to put your pet on one side of the new Pet Portal™ and place yourself on the other side of the door. Raise the flap, and holding a treat in your hand, coax your pet through the portal. If he is hesitant, tape the flap up for a day or two when you are permitting your pet to go out. They will quickly find the way to freedom. Once they are familiar with the opening, lower the flap and try again with a treat. Do not force your pet, just coax them. Shortly, your new Classy Custom Pet Portal™ will be celebrated by all.
