Jackson's Chameleons are great for older kids (supervised) and adults will enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this species
Chameleons in general tend to be on the nervous side but the Jackson's is both a hardy and large species so it makes a great pet
Being a sturdy species and if properly cared for they can live for 5 years in captivity
Handling must be done very carefully as chameleons can become easily stressed and even damaged if not done correctly
Proper setup is absolutely critical - a 65 gal reptarium is fine for babies & juveniles but adults that get 15" & larger will need a 175 gal reptarium or larger similar enclosure
Reaches full adult size of typically 12 to 20 inches in approximately 10 months
Main staple diet of crickets, mealworms, giant mealworms, superworms and waxworms are easily obtained
