  • Oversized 6 foot tubing for easy siphoning of almost any size aquarium

The Marina Gravel Vacuum Cleaners are essential to your routine water changes since they are designed to separate and remove debris from your aquarium. They way they work is simple... water flows rapidly out of the hose causing the gravel to lift and tuble inside the 2" diameter vacuum. Thus, the dirt rises and goes down the tube while the gravel is cleaned and then falls back to the aquarium floor.

To start the process you begin siphoning the water into a bucket and then insert the tube into the gravel. Continually lift and move to a new spot as you work your way throughout the entire aquarium bottom. Typically you will remove 15 to 30 percent of the water in your aquarium through this method.

You should repeat this process on a regular schedule as this will allow your gravel to remain loose and fairly clean. In addition, regular cleaning with a gravel vacuum provides for optimum undergravel filter operation.
