Hagen Fluval Biomax (500 Grams)

Hagen Fluval BioMax is beneficial for both fresh and marine aquariums and is specifically designed for the Fluval Canister Filters. BioMax's unique ceramic rings are porous and correctly sized to promote extraordinary beneficial bacterial growth. This is the ideal media for biological removal of both ammonia and nitrite concentrations in your aquarium.

Fluval Biomax can be used in the middle media basket where it becomes an excellent strainer for medium and large particulates. However, we recommend placing it at the end of the filtration process where it becomes a strong biological filter. BioMax should be replaced approximately every 6 months, however, only 50% should be replaced at one time so that the older media can seed the new media.
