The Exo Terra canned foods are one of the easiest, safest and most convenient ways to feed insects. These cans have high quality farm raised insects that have been cooked in the can to maintain nutritional value, flavor and aroma. The method of cooking also softens the exoskeleton of the insects for easier digestion. Furthermore, the bonds between the collagen protein has been broken down to make it more absorbable by reptiles. Collagen is important because it aids in building bone, cartilage, skin and claw structures. The canned insects have the same nutritional value as live insects but are easier to digest. If using the canned foods, live insects are not required but we do suggest live food as a supplement from time to time.
