Merapi Volcanic Wood roots come from one of the rare plants in the world that is actually capable of growing directly in volcanic rock beds. The roots of this plant actually seek out water by twisting and turning deep into the hard volcanic rock. Of course, this unique ability to drill down into the rock is what gives them their unique shapes and textures that make it a spectacular decor item for any terrarium.

By the very fact that this plant's roots are buried in volcanic rock makes it very difficult to retrieve and is therefore available in limited quantities. The Merapi Volcanic wood root is also extremely resistant to water, so it not only works well in humid vivarium environments but in tropical fish aquariums as well.
